Note that this Unity decided to migrate and blend all their talk, Q&A and discussion and bretzels into big ungainly and convoluted interface "forum", most all old links gotten from Google lead to dead ends. Even using their search function I cannot find the official Playmaker thread while being flooded with a bajillion other threads. I even tried "chouls" while looking for users, but it returns a totally blank page.
FWIW, editing the link Google gives you and adapting to the new format, you can get to the true and official Playmaker thread
here.
Discourse has an implicit pagination system where each page is twenty posts long.
You can get to the pages by adding ?page=XXX to the URL, with XXX replaced by the proper page number (which you have to guess).
These absolute twats at Unity have rolled out that whole new bloated Discourse system without even verifying that its most basic functions do work or that it wouldn't break all older content. Why did they let the intern manage that?
There is still so many issues, categories make no sense, videos not appear, links broken, formatting lost, much harder to browse etc
At best, they may have not migrated the old threads. Which is of course totally stupid. This mentality of releasing broken systems and then patching them up constantly in a rush is so deplorable. It's agile gone wrong.
This new forum also happens to use one of the most annoying graphical interfaces ever, it wastes so much screen space. Categories are truly of poor design and all goes through the absurd tag system. It's like dumping everything into one big dustbin and having to look for the color of the ribbon wrapped around your package to find what you want. You cannot even see the message you're replying to if you're quoting someone and if you want to see the input of a person who quoted you, you have to expand the reply area underneath each post! Who the hell validates that kind of dementia?? Multiquoting is even gone and you have to keep rolling up and down those never ending pages to get the full context. Preview, gone. Signature, gone.
It's all pseudo good looks and no functionality at all, with UXempirical = null.
Total garbage.
Looks like some people at Unity have spent too much at the social school of Reddit, which is by far the worst system ever and even got less practical with the new layout they released earlier in the year. Old school forums are way more efficient, cleaner and clearer to use.
That's one global trend that pisses me off, that all software tools are going through a devolving phase where their respective interfaces are becoming more and more stupid and less functional, and where control and efficiency are taken away from users. It's like we're treated as if we were babies, dumb and all that.
