Performance issues with events

In a small play maker setup there isnt an issue, however my main FSM has a lot of events in now and I have notices a significant performance decrease.

The problem is 10x worse if you have the global events window open, even if you are not selecting or making a global event.

adding an event transition to a state is slow
removing an event transition from a state is slow
adding an event to an action is slow
creating a new event is slow

each of the above action takes several seconds to do each and every time, having the global event window open doubles the time.

I decided to post the issue here rather than in a bug report as its not broken and play maker is going strong still, just a bit slow.

using PM 1.5.4F3
Unity 3.5.6

with 3Ghz quad core and 8 GB of ram
