Daz Studio is now a resource in your 2d gaming software
« on: December 02, 2012, 03:13:12 AM »
Creating Game Characters description:

You want to easily render any chosen 3d character model or object and its animations.

This is ideal for characters and environments used in games.

Naturally all Daz originals and poser content can be used.

Daz Studio is now a resource in your 2d gaming software, employing new innovative techniques that can reduce the number of frames used.

Traditionally an animated ani-block or .bvh walk cycle is 30 frames of animation by employing the techniques within the tutorial the frames are effectively halved.

Unique new cameras that allow creating, full eight direction animation sequences in 2D or 2.5D views.

Primary focus of this tutorial and the Daz studio scene is to empower games designers within the development of creating characters for use for there own specific requirements.

Daz studio editions come as standard with only the following views, perspective, front, left, right, back, top and bottom.

Currently there is no Orthographic view.

In order to use character models within Daz Studio for gaming you would normally need the Indie Game Developer License: http://www.daz3d.com/shop/utilities-resources/other-resources/indie-game-developer-license

However with my product you are dealing with only the rendered images and do not need this License.

There are many resources in regard to the Indie game development marketplace, http://www.pixelprospector.com/the-big-list-of-game-making-tools/

What does my product offer the user?

With the Unique new cameras and lighting, simply import your chosen model, dress them to suit your own personal gaming needs, either pose and animate yourself or you can use purchased ani-blocks or maximo download content.

You can then render this character with the animation using the unique new cameras and simply import this into your chosen Indie game development software.

An important consideration is the number of animation frames used; obviously you only want to render only the animation frames necessary full details on how to do this is included within the PDF tutorial.

Lastly the render settings are very flexible, simply chose the size you wish to use within your gaming environments used in games.

I am seeking feedback on this new product, what demand if any there is for such a product.

many thanks for your time

colpolstudios...

Not sure why you haven't gotten any replies, but if I understand you correctly you are making a workflow of rendering the Daz 3d models out to image/sprite form?

It could be very handy to have it if was easy and fast.

Ie render out the walking, running, jumping etc for 2d use would be great.
