How do I read from an external list?
« on: August 23, 2013, 09:15:04 AM »
I want to have descriptions of multiple objects. Rather than making a ton or really long string variables, can I make a txt document or something and call the info from that?

I have ArrayMaker, but I cant see how you can call an external file with it.

I am using Playmaker because I have NO programming skills, so PLEASE help me in a step-by-step way, rather than "use a database" (or whatever.)

Thank you in advance.

Where would the external list reside? How would it load into the player if it is external?

Thanks for the reply,
...I'm thinking of a notepad list dropped into the Assets folder, but I'm not sure if that would work.

I don't understand "How would it load into the player if it is external?"

Thanks,

Rob.

Very cool.. I've managed to pull up one line, but it looks like it will brilliantly!
Thank you!
