Setting up a character with animations for a platformer.

Hello, I just bought this package the other day as it sounded very helpful.
Now i have been looking through the tutorials and the only one video tutorial i can find about setting up my character & animations in the animation graph seems a bit out date ? has anything changed since then its dated to 2011, anyone know a good example of how to set my character up for a platforming game in this ?

I havent been able to find much from searching the forum, im probably just using the wrong terminology for this but ehh yep.
