Can you make games with playmaker
« on: April 10, 2014, 05:51:43 PM »
Can games be made with just playmaker?
I have a basic grasp of unity and a little coding
But I was just wondering what's the opinion
Of people who have used it as I'm waiting for
The next sale before I purchase it.
Also is there much of a learning curve to it

Thanks in advance

Jonny

Hey Jonny,

I "coded" kaptain kat (link below) using just playmaker.

Here are a ton of games using playmaker. http://hutonggames.com/playmakerforum/index.php?board=10.0

As for the learning curve, it all depends on how complex you are trying to go. There are also tons of samples to download that will get you started as well as these forums full of tons of golden nuggets. The more coding you know the better but you will learn through time as well which is win win!
All my VR games use Steam VR Playmaker Toolkit: http://u3d.as/u20
And Oculus Touch Playmaker Toolkit: http://u3d.as/QT5

Yes you can. Learning curve a lot longer compared to the tools like GameSalad, especially if you learning Unity at the same time. But playmaker is freaking awesome and powerful.

You absolutely can. I only know very basic coding and use Playmaker for 99% of my game logic, and I have a very complex fighting system in my game with many attack property variables, animations, and effects.
