playmake shooter tutorials applied to 2D game collision.

With the official playmaker tutorials I don't recall them covering much of 2D games, that being objects that are flat quads verses 2.5d or 3d examples using cubes, spheres, or whatever isn't flat. Is there a big difference when using quads for collision and trigger events?
