WWWObject does not support GIF?

I know this is not exactly as PM question, but seems like WWWObject does not support fetching GIF's. Does anyone know if it is possible to make a converter between or has somebody any solution for this?

Unity doesn't support animated gifs at all. You would use sprite animation instead. I don't know if basic gif images are support or not, but I think not?
