Trying to create "Vehicle Customization" [Solved]
« on: August 31, 2014, 09:07:17 AM »
Ok so I'd like the player to be able to customize a vehicle. I placed Empties all over where the custom parts should appear. The empties have Get Rotation/Position actions and the custom parts have Set Rotation/Position actions, both have every frame checked. Thing is I noticed that when the vehicle moves, the parts seem to lag behind a little bit. So I was wondering if there is another (or better) way of achieving what I'm trying to do?

I use Set Parent to Empties.

Using get/set pos/rot could be heavy to calculate every frame for moving object.
If you have all parts with rigidbodies try FixedJoint (a component).

I did this with the free oomph kit but it's not add modular as it should be, just an extract from the game I'm working on. You marked as solved, but maybe you can get some ideas from there, thought I would mention it.
