Help! Playmaker button doesn't work with Oculus Rift.
« on: March 26, 2015, 05:12:22 PM »
Hello all!
This is my first post in this forum, so I guess I'll intro myself quickly before start bugging people!! :D
I'm pretty new to Unity3D and Playmaker, so forgive me if my questions sound too naive! I know 3D pretty well from the CGI/VFX standpoint thou.
Recently I got a hold of a pair of Oculus Rift Dk2....ohh man
So,
What would be the best approach to build a 3d menu with playmaker to work in stereo with Oculus Rift?
The buttons I create with playmaker don't get rendered in VR mode, I guess it is because they are rendered in screenspace? I can't find a option to get them in World Space as the regular 4.6 style GUI elements do...
Any tips would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

Lane

If you're doing VR then do not use Legacy GUI. Screenspace GUI is generally considered a bad idea for it. The legacy GUI actually works fine but is a horrible experience. VR does not change the way the GUI behaves.

I recommend switching to Unity UI (uGUI) and working in world space entirely.
