Hutong Games was founded by game industry veterans exploring innovative new directions in interactive entertainment. Our first product, PlayMaker, exposes the power of the popular Unity game engine in a user friendly visual state editor.
Alex Chouls started his game industry career at Looking Glass Studios, and has enjoyed many roles over the years: 3d modeler, animator, lead artist, technical art director, A.I. team lead, game director, creative director of Blue Fang Games, and now a new adventure: co-founder of Hutong Games.
Trained in film and the visual arts, Alex finds interactive entertainment to be uniquely challenging and rewarding. His twin passions are creating engaging interactive experiences and building tools that empower other creative people to realize their visions.
"The game industry needs to draw on diverse creative visions to grow. Accessible development tools are key to broadening our base, inviting creative people from all backgrounds to help us shape this new medium."
Erin Ko is a visual artist from the United States with over 10 years of professional experience in games and interactive media, including stints at Looking Glass Studios and Razorfish. Her interests lie in combining traditional art making methods with new ones to achieve unique process and result.
This extends perfectly into the realm of video games, which she sees as stuck in a largely generic, adolescent and stale rut.
Imperialism, consumerism, and industrialization drive her crazy. When not engaged in her Berkshires studio, she spends much of her time cooking delicious things or stumbling through various parts of Asia.
