Android Help / Re: Android variables problem.

Hi.
Thanks, i will wait to get deeper into this after you tried :)
Sorry to inform but I did use a wrong variable and that explained my issue. Somehow I have created a new variable that name was almost the same, so while I looked it too fast I missed this obvious reason. Now it does work correctly.

But Rufusol should give details of his issue to get it solved.

In the Playmaker's Slack-channel question was made how to move projectile in an arc without using physics.

I found a great post from the Unity's forum by Stephan-B. So this action is almost the same, only with some slight modifications.

  • You set the start position for the projectile.
  • Set destination for the projectile
  • Give angle for movement
  • Set gravity; bigger gravity -> more speed
  • Set the actual projectile that will be moved
  • Set event to send when movement is ready (optional)
  • Give variable to store the distance travelled (optional)

Waiting to be merged to Ecosystem's repository.

Share New Actions / Enum Changed
« on: April 03, 2018, 09:31:02 AM »
I created new action that will look if enum is changed.
You can also select certain enum's value that you are wanting to take action only.

Example use case: Waiting for your game's state to be changed from Pause --> Playing.

I used existing "Bool Changed" as an example how to do this for Enum.

Available also in the Ecosystem.

You mean building for android right?

What unity/playmaker version are you using?

Do you use cloud to build?

Can you repo in a simple project and pm a link?
Yeah, exporting to Android == Build for Android.

Not at the moment on the own computer, but latest stable of Unity 2017 and Playmaker 1.8.9.

Not using Cloud build.

In my case this topic might solve the problem. Will try to test it in the evening. If I can't get it working with the help of that I make some new project that reproduces the issue and will provide a link with PM then.

My case told short:
1.) I read .json file and parse it into an object
2.) Then setting Playmaker FSM' int variables value from that object

In Editor it works, but not when exporting/building for Android.

...
I see that playmaker dont work on android export.
Someone have this kind of problem?
I just yesterday noticed the same kind of issue when I exported my game to Android. It doesn’t get one of the variable set correctly. In Unity editor it is working. Didn’t have time to try to solve it yet.

Playmaker Tutorials / Re: Tutorial for: Sharing custom actions?
« on: April 01, 2018, 11:51:25 PM »
Tags are built in, when you input your search text, it will match any of these words on files, so if you want to tag an action "skipadu", it simply has to be inside the action code text somehow, inside a commented line is the way to go, at the top preferrably.
Okay, thanks for the information. Will keep this in mind then.

Hi
what did you modify (can you show it, what you did please) ? & is it a way what I´m searching for?

Thanks Volker
My fix was not a real fix, but I did remove the ApplicationOpenUrl script and the "Forum"-button that was using it in the joystick example scene. So then I could get the example running without compile error.

Thanks for contributing!
Maybe someone of the Playmaker's creators can add these also to the Ecosystem so they are easier to get.

Hi,

I'll check the applicationOpenUrl, I need to update it yes.

As for the TranslateAdvanced, I think you might have had this action before getting this sample right? the package is fine, I tested it, so it's likely a trouble with guid from Unity. I would try to force things up, maybe deleted TranslateAdvanced and getting the joystick package again.

Let me know how it goes, else have the sampes on dedicated projects.

 Bye,

 Jean

I tried to delete TranslateAdvanced and removed the joystick package. Then getting the joystick package. Was still complaining.

But then I made whole new project and started with only Playmaker and Ecosystem and then I could see the working sample (just modified a little so that I could get rid of applicationOpenUrl -error). All good now, thanks  ;)

Hi.
There is also a sample file for a onscreen joystick on the Ecosystem
if you would like a onscreen controller :)
(Search for Ugui Joystick)
Was interested about the joystick so I tried that. But the sample has multiple errors. One was deprecated when using applicationUrl and another was missing action TranslateAdvanced.
But when trying to get that TranslateAdvanced from EcoSystem, it showed that it already be into my project. Redownloading of the action did not help.

To behave like arrow keys, I might myself use buttons on the UI and then wire them with Playmaker actions.

There are many tutorials available how to use UI buttons to send Playmaker actions, this is one example Maybe that will get you started with controls.

You described the whole game there and you should find it easy to do when you get into Playmaker and Unity. It is hard to tell every step here on forums.

Maybe watch some tutorials from following channels on YouTube:

There you should find awesome tutorials from various ways of doing what you want and more.
