Playmaker Help / WebGL: UI doesn't show?!

Hi there,

I just uploaded my little game to itch.io as they support webgl games.
Works nicely except for one thing: my Game Over screen (which consists of a couple of non-editable text boxes) doesn't show.
And because one of the text boxes waits for the player to press a key to restart the game, the game can't be restarted unless you reload the page.

Any ideas? :(

Playmaker Help / Get a GameObject reference from an array

Hi there,

I've made an array from a number of GameObjects (empty ones just for their positional information). I then get a random entry from that array and I want to get the respective GameObject but all I get is a the index which is a float.

Is there a way to get the correspondent GameObject rather than the index?

Work In Progress... / Melon Game Jam entry

Hi there,

I'm working on a project for Melon Game Jam.
This is entirely made wth Playmaker: player and enemy movement, item interactions, "character" interactions, controlling animations.

I'm pretty much at home in Unreal but for small, potentially mobile/phone projects I'm trying to learn Unity so this is still pretty much me learning Unity and Playmaker.
So here's the player with a patrolling enemy and their "interaction":


I'm posting quite a bit about my projects (not only Unity ones) on Twitter so why not follow me if you're interested at all? :)

I'm almost entirely sure I'm just missing something obvious but I can't seem to get it to work... :(

Playmaker Help / Continuous update/Tick/every frame?

Hi there,

I want to have a GameObject look at the position the player is touching/clicking the screen. That's simple enough to do.
However, I want the look at to be updated as long as the left mouse button is held or the finger is on screen.

What would be the best way to do this?

My idea was to set a global boolean and check it in another FSM. Whenever I detect that it's true I would then update the look at direction, wait for 0.x seconds and check the boolean again. This seems like a very dirty hack, though...

Playmaker Help / No HUD on android?[SOLVED]

Hey there,

I've created some HUD elements via 'GameObject ->UI -> [...]' and they work great in the editor but I've now tried it on Android for the first time and none of the HUD elements (just text, really) were visible.

Has anyone seen anything like that before? Or maybe I'm doing something wrong?

Hiya,

so I used ArrayMaker in Unity 4 but it doesn't seem to be working anymore in Unity 5 (at least for me).

I read that Playmaker 1.8.x introduced array variables/supported arrays without any add-ons but that doesn't seem to be the case in my project which is using 1.8.3.

Am I doing something wrong? :(

Hey there,

I had a little idea on the train this morning and now I'm wondering if any of you know of playmaker-compatible spline tools that would let me generate splines at runtime with input from the user and have a simple mesh 'follow' them?

Basically, think generating a tunnel/pipe layout according to the user's input.
Any ideas?

I was wondering what kind of value Device Roll returns - is it just roll (as in pitch, yaw, roll)?
And if so - can I get pitch and yaw somehow as well?

Playmaker Help / Creating an iTween path at runtime?

Hi there!

So what I'm trying to do is have a gameobject that is moving along an iTween path but the nodes for that path are set at runtime. The idea is to have an empty gameobject whose children are used as waypoints for my object.

Is there a way I can use the 'Look Ahead' functionality with such a runtime path if I don't know how many waypoints I might end up with?
I.e. can I somehow pass the child object count to the iTween Move To action?
Using an array I can pass a new tranform position to the iTween Move To action whenever one point has been reached but that way I can't get the 'look ahead' to work and the object's rotation looks bad.

Any ideas? :)

There's a Start state and another dark grey state. I have no idea how to create those. Can anyone help me with this?

Playmaker Help / Lock cursor not working?

Hey there,

I made a very simple test scene and one of the basic things it's supposed to do is lock the cursor so it doesn't "break out" of the window when clicking a lot (as you might in an FPS for example).

However, even though the PlaymakerGUI is controlling the cursor and the "Lock Cursor" is ticked in the "SetCursor" action it still escapes the borders of the window/full screen instance.
Any idea why this might be happening? :(

This is my first ever Unity project. It's a fairly simple game called Dodgosaurus in which you control a dinosaur to dodge asteroids that are falling from the sky. Speed and amount of the asteroids are increased with every new level. If you get hit three times the game ends. Starting in the 3rd level, however, there's also a health pickup that refills your health bar.

Even though it's a small training project (and not to be taken too seriously) I'd still appreciate some feedback before I release it and move on to a more serious project.

Playmaker Help / Align GUI Elements to right side of the screen?[SOLVED]

Hi there,

I was wondering if there was a way to align GUI Layout elements to the right side of the screen.
I'm using images for my HUD and for readability I'd like evenly distribute elements on screen. Since the measurement for all these elements seems to start in the top left corner and the screen resolution will be adjustable I don't see how I could align an image to the top right corner.

Any ideas?

Hey guys,

I'm working on a very simply HUD at the moment. One of my GUI Layout labels has a background image. The texture for this is stored in a variable of the type Texture.
It's supposed to be kind of a health bar that changes images based on the player's health.

Is there a way I can change that Texture variable during runtime and thus automatically update my GUI Layout label?
