Switch gameplay phase

Hi guys. I'd like to make a phase switching like this game: (2:19)
So when user takes one item, the game will switch to a new phase with new game play immediately. I guess I will need to create new assets in the scene and activate that object set when the item is activated. Then move the player and main camera to where I put those assets, is that correct way?
Sorry, I'm new with Unity and PM.

Yes, I'd have the mini-game somewhere in the scene, out of view. I wouldn't move the player or camera though. Instead, I'd have a duplicate player attached to the mini-game and would disable the original during that phase. Similarly I'd have a second camera in position for the mini-game, and just toggle which of the 2 should be the main camera.
