[Suggestion] Playmaker community on Google+
« on: June 27, 2014, 05:07:33 AM »
I think it would be interesting to have an official Playmaker community on Google+
The Google+ has a far superior community system compared to the Facebook system.
It is organized, has categories, better design and features like hangouts.
There are official communities for various software, including Unity, Blender, Zbrush, Photoshop.....
Unity
https://plus.google.com/u/0/communities/112038646764057420527

Blender
https://plus.google.com/u/0/communities/115632807910317842467

Have a specific Unity Playmaker community, makes it easier to exchange info, showcase, share actions, make mini challengers to help learn Playmaker/Unity. for example: make a micro game with theme X in 3 days, 1 week, etc.
Or even show what you're doing or how do you do X and Y in real time with hangouts (using screen sharing).

Well, this is the suggestion :D

I have a hard time keeping up with my current G+ stuff. I think I'd prefer something similar to the Unity Bar and Grill skype chat. There's a ton of users there.

Either a PlayMaker skype chat...or perhaps we can all meet in the Unity Bar and Grill.

Personally I agree with Trent and don't really like it for lots of reasons and I don't actually know anyone that prefers to use it over other stuff like forums/irc/skype. Of course its something to be considered if people are using it and there does seem to be at least some userbase for G+ communities.

I went ahead and created a Skype group. I've tried these before and they're pretty handy, the Unity ones are always active. You can add me ( zer0bounds ) and I'll put you in the Group and we'll see where it goes.

an irc channel would be nice, but then on the freenode server if possible
(there is the unity3d Channel)

i am a lot on the unity3d channel and i learned a lot there.

On a skype group you need to be invited / added,
so you can't do anything before you got invited or accepted.

if a new person has some questions they can go straight to the irc channel and ask something
