Unity's new input system vs Rewired?
« on: September 15, 2024, 05:57:04 PM »
Hi I'm having a hard time figuring out if Playmaker supports Unity's new input system. I see a lot of posts about it with no replies. But then there's mentions of actions for it that exist, but then those are alongside comments that direct users to Rewired.

My needs are really simple and Rewired seems like overkill, so my preference is Unity's (also free) system. But does Playmaker support it?

Hi

Rewired is a far better solution than unity's built in solution and provide playmaker support... :)

I myself could never really feel comfortable with Unity's new input system....

Bye,

Jean

Yes, Playmaker can support Unity's new Input System, but not natively out of the box. You need to add custom actions or use community-supported integrations.

Playmaker doesn't have a public roadmap for supporting the new Input system yet, so there's no hope of official support anytime soon.
