Adding variables

Adding a variable when you have a window full of them already is a pain once you have a variable selected as the space to deselect by clicking on the empty window space is gone.  I find myself having to use the scroll bar to get this little tiny bit of space to click on.

I agree with this, actually. Beyond that, I often find myself accidentally renaming an existing variable rather than creating a new one like I wanted, since it is so hard to not have one currently selected.

Yeah, this area of the UI could use some love...

If it helps, you can press Escape to deselect variables/events...
