Issues using playmaker for first time

Hello,

I installed Playmaker but there are a bunch of errors in the console. I followed another tutorial to delete playmaker to make sure I was downloading the correct one from the Asset Store. That did not do anything. Please advise.

What version of Unity are you using?
Is it a new project? Or are you importing into an existing project?

That error log doesn't seem to have any PlayMaker errors in it... it seems to be about the unity timeline package

Have you restarted Unity?

I've seen similar problems fixed in Unity by quitting unity and deleting: <Path To My Project>/Library/PackageCache

BACKUP your project first if it's not a new project!

Hello,

I did what you suggested with the cache and I also deleted a bunch of unnecessary imported packages incase those were causing the issue. The red errors are all gone!

A new thing seems to be an issue, not sure if I am being just a noob or if something is wrong: the playmaker toolbar drop down here is missing the Editor and a bunch of stuff? See screenshot

probably its only partly installed.

In you project go to the folder Playmaker/Editor/Install and double click the Playmaker.1.9.x (x depends on version downloaded) to continue the install

Normally the Welcome Screen would open with the option to Install PlayMaker. Maybe because you had errors it didn't open.

You can open the Welcome Screen from the PlayMaker menu and install from there:

Or like djaydino said you can import the package from Playmaker/Editor/Install, but it's a good habit to use the Welcome Window since you can run a Pre-Update check, see update notes etc.
