Whats with the verification questionaire?

Seriously, are all those letters, asset name and five plus nine absolutely necessary?
I shouldn't have to type that all in per post. That's silly.
Sure i'll do the verification letters, but the others? Are you just trying to make me waste my time?

it is necessary for new members due to excessive spam. not sure about post count, but after certain posts, you wont see them.

coz spammers use bots to spam bulk. such bots can easily resolve simple captchas

myself reported dozens of spams posts to mods.

There is a huge number of spam accounts registered on the forum. I've deleted about 3000 accounts in the past couple of months.

Even with the verification they still somehow make it to posting on the forum. I'm pretty sure these are manually done. Generally they will leave a normal reply... then go back to edit it with spam after a week or so. Pretty hard to find these sometimes.

Some of them don't get to the point of posting, they just make an account, add a malicious website link and edit their sig with spam links, I think these are the ones that the verification stops since they never post, but often there are Guest accounts scrubbing their forum profiles for some reason.

So yeah it's a little annoying for the first 5 posts but it makes a huge difference in the amount of spam and the safety of the forum.

Hi.
Before that Verification change there was new spam almost daily (and regularly multiple per day)
Now its down to a few per week, which are not bots, but people adding them manually.

Many times they copy text from another thread report them, then ad links (sometimes right away, sometimes weeks or months later)
or
Reply to post with very vague/unrelated replies and come back months later to add links to their posts.

It's still a daily job to check those post but a lot lighter with these verification added
