external assets loaded at runtime?
« on: May 23, 2013, 01:14:07 PM »
hi guys, i'm new to unity and playmaker.

i used to mod pc id tech games, and their engines could be set to look for external art, audio, scripts etc which would be loaded at runtime instead of the assets that were shipped with the games. does unity and playmaker have a similar option?

to clarify, in the future. i would like to make some of my unity made games easily moddable by my pc end users.

Hi,

Yes, Unity offers these abilities, as for Playmaker, get back to us when you have a specific need, the possibilities and implementation varies very much, so we need use case to provide something useful.

bye,

hi jean, thanks very much for the prompt reply and that's very good news.

by the way, it was through watching the video tutorials on your youtube channel that sold me on the idea of using unity and your plugin, since i'm more of a designer/artist and this toolset looks ideal for me.
