SubFSMs. How to pass an event to the parent FSM?
« on: July 09, 2014, 08:58:51 PM »
Hello! I searched around for this info for a bit. Most of the forum posts I found were a few years old.

Two quick questions.

  • Is the Run FSM action still the way to implement a sub FSM?
  • Do I need to write a custom run FSM action to get events/data from the sub FSM to the parent FSM?

Our player can either "finish" or "cancel" the sub FSM and our parent FSM would like to know which. I can write a custom action no problem if necessary. My question is mainly, "Is it necessary?"

Hi,

yes, this is still the case.

when you send an event you will choose "host fsm" as the send option, have you tried that?

Bye,
