Character getting squashed [SOLVED]
« on: January 07, 2015, 01:30:36 AM »
Hi im new to the forums and playmaker!

Need a little help as I'm totally baffled as why this is occurring.

I just completed the 2d Platformer tutorial that was posted in these forums by Romi Fauzi. I followed along and got everything running smoothly.

However I ran into a problem when I parented the player to the moving platform. Now when I do this the player is parented to the platform and moves accordingly but the sprite ends up getting squashed of sorts. (All controls work perfect still)

So i discovered that is was something to do with the set parent as each time i disable the parent the player remains in normal size though the moving platform slides underneath him.

I've attached pictures to show what is occurring.

When I land on the platform everything is good until I move the character.

I've trouble shooted everything i can think of.

Any help would be fantastic

(Character Sprite is that from Braid)

Is the platform scale 1,1,1?

Scale has some abnormal inheritance bugs/properties sometimes. It's good practice to keep everything at 1,1,1 scale (for lots of reasons) or put it in a wrapper object that will be 1,1,1 scale.
