error cs1061 ugui/proxies/playmakeruguicomponentproxy.cs[SOLVED]

Was working in unity and while i was working on the gui i got a random error, i was not working on the gui with any playmaker components just the unity gui.

the error reads:

Assets/PlayMaker uGui/Proxies/PlayMakerUGuiComponentProxy.cs(257,57): error CS1061: Type `Button' does not contain a definition for `onClick' and no extension method `onClick' of type `Button' could be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?)

i have reset unity, closed/reopened unity and the error persists. any help appreciated, thanks
