Hi Ateam. Can you expand on that? I test installed the ecosystem on 2017.1 and found it working. I did need to restart unity after installing the ecosystem. Is yours an update from 5.6/5.5 to 2017.1 ? Did you try and re-installing the ecosystem?

Any console errors?

I noticed the ecosystem not working in 2017.1.  No errors.  You launch the ecosystem and when you search for something, it finds 2 things:  jack and Sh_t.  So it looks like it is working but it never finds anything.

Hi,

 Yes, The Ecosystem doesn't work yet for 2017, I need to modify few core features because of some breaking changes in the WWW class of Unity between Unity 4-5 and Unity 2017.

I hope to have an update in about 10 days.

I have owned Playmaker for a few years but have only recently got around to using/learning it properly. I installed it with the ecosystem on Unity 2017.1 a couple of days ago, and when doing a blank search it returned approx. 35 results for Unity 3 demos/templates and Unity 4 actions.
I thought it was strange and assumed it was something I had done wrong so thank you for clarifying the issue.

Looking forward to the fix so I can have a play :)

Hi,

 The Ecosystem will only become supported in Unity 2017.2 as the fix for the bug that prevents the browser to function properly only made it in 2017.2 not in the current public release. The coming update of the PlayMaker ecosystem will work then on that release.

wow this ecosystem unavailability is a little bit of a big issue, is there anything we can do to get those actions that were available on there? like gui proxy, unity show ads etc are all very important, unity 2017.2 doesn't come out until september so i'm a bit confused on what we are meant to do till then.

Hi,
There are a few ways yes,
You can look in github :
Unity 4 actions/samples/scripts
Unity 5 actions

Or install unity 2017.2 beta

Or rename your unity folder to (for example Unity2017.1)
in install an older version (unity 5.6.2 for example)
and make a project with Playmaker and Ecosystem.
after you got the actions you need copy them to your current project folder

I upgraded to the latest Unity 2017.2 beta yesterday for the Eco System, but it played havoc with my current project.
TextMesh Pro objects disappeared, and I got lots of null reference errors.
I did try and fix the problems but was having no luck :( especially with Textmesh Pro as Unity kept unticking the TMP components for some reason?

Anyhow I thought  I would give the PM Eco system a go while it was installed and I still couldn't find anything other than the Unity3 and 4 demos/templates?
I did try and reimport PM and TMP but still had the same issues.

I totally gave up in the end and reverted back to 2017.1.
That was a lot of hours I will never get back LOL.
Just warning other users thinking of upgrading to the beta to tread carefully. It may just have been me though, and I would be happy to hear if any one gives it a go and it is a success for them.

Hi,

weird. it works here:



TextMesh and Ecosystem are unrelated, but I'd be interested to see what errors you get, can you paste some of them?

Like any Unity beta version ( or for that matter any upgrade), you should always back up, even test on a copy of your project if you are not using github or a cose repository system, and then once you validated that beta works ok, you can then proceed with your actual project.

Hi jean Thankfully, I did make backups before trying the Unity upgrade :)

Unfortunately I got a bit fed up so reverted back to 2017.1 so I don't have the exact errors it was producing.
I am going to probably hold out for 2017.2 official before trying again. Unless I start a new project first??
