Ads!!!! I'm currently looking at putting ads in my game, though not sure I want full video ads, I don't mind a button click to dismiss a full screen ad but video ads would hurt retention (imo).
Do you know how long the videos are and if they can be skipped by the player?

They can be skipped by the player yes.

Video ads are a entirely different beast. Instead of just popping a ad in their face video ads are often used as some sort of incentive.

For Example, lost all your lives? Play this video ad and we will give you another life. This is how Candy Crush does it. This is how I see video ads most of the time. Telling users to click then giving them some reward.

This can work amazingly well. For example one game I play right now gives me 1 ingame currency for each ad I watch. Me and my friend both sit there while watching tv and do nothing but start ads for ingame gems.

Think of how much money we are making the owner of the game!





That being said, if you would like a normal ad feel free to pick through the Prime31 plugins. I have just about every ad plugin they own as we tried them all to see what gave out the best revenue. I would be happy to make it.

Sounds like something I can use!

Just out of interest .... what gave out the best revenue? :P I have iAd atm but need to look into others. Use to work for a game studio who were able to use multiple Ad providers so the player would always get an ad. A bit too tech for me, I just want a solid Ad provider that will work.

I can ask the marketing guy tomorrow what the top earners are.

We are using 2 or 3 different ones at once right now. We have gone through like 5 or 6. Though this includes stuff like more games buttons etc. Not just normal ads.

That would be great, AdMob would possibly be the best as Prime31 has made a combo for that. Also looking at some reviews it looks like AdMob has high fill rates but an average eCPM (based on user reviews) so could be a good provider.

Well I found

If I can find a free solution then I may make the plugin. I am trying to shy away from the ad centers though as I already got semi burned with Vungle as Unity will not allow any of them on the asset store.
