When Time Scale set to 0 Menu buttons won't play sounds
« on: May 16, 2014, 07:18:48 PM »
Hi,

I've made a menu and it Sets the Time scale to 0, From what I've read sounds won't play unless they're called before hand. So how would you make a sound play after the the time scale is set to 0? This would require me to play the sound while pressing a key in a menu

Thanks,
Josh

I'd be wary about using Time Scale, as it limits what you can do whilst your game is paused. There are a few Pause kits on the Asset Store, and they allow you to select which gameobjects to freeze, and which to not.  I'd recommend checking that out.

When I was using Time Scale though, I found that it often wouldn't pause the audio I wanted, but I found a custom action on here called Pause Listeners which seemed to fix that problem. Not your original query I know, but I'm sure that'll be a problem you encounter further down the line :)

Okay cool, Sounds like a better option then trying to find a way around the Time scale.

Thanks!
