Animator Match Target

Hi,
I am trying to control a player via A* Pathfinder. Since there are not definitive Playmaker actions for this asset, I was looking to use this action, "Animator Match Target". Can someone help me to understand this from a basic point.
Only as a generic concept of how it works.
I understand that the movement is generated from the "agent" driven by A* that could be in this case an empty object and this work fine up to this point. I would like to transfer these motions to the player with a animator controller. Please if this is not the right way to use Animator controller with A*. Please let me know.
 I would really appreciate any help.

 down the page you'll find demos for U4, get this one, if features integration with Unity pathfinding.
