Option to use Playmaker in an project or turn it off
« on: May 15, 2016, 02:46:56 PM »
Hello,

I am really thinking of using Playmaker, and I am very NEW to the Unity world as well.

My question is, if you install Playmaker - can you still just do projects without using it ? And then do projects with the option of using it ?

So, if i install it - i still want the option to either use it or not - so that i an still use Unity as is.

I know, a dumb question - but just want to make sure.

thx
T

Hi,
yes you can.

But be warned, when you start with PlayMaker you will never want to make a project without it :D

Hi,

;D djaydino is quite right actually :)

All PlayMaker actions are pur c# open source codes, so this goes even beyond the ability to use PlayMaker or not within the same project, you can have features that use both at the same time! since you can communiate back and forth between PlayMaker State Machines and regular scripts and Components, so the possibilities are totally open.

However, the actual Finite StateMachine engine is not open source and provided as a dll, something to consider and be aware of.

Typically, PlayMaker is all mighty if you indeed combine it with regular scripts, this is where you'll get the most out of Unity and PlayMaker and totally unleash the potential.

Bye,
