Previewing in editor (1.5+) taking a long time. [SOLVED]
« on: February 22, 2013, 01:45:33 PM »
I understand that at this point given the sheer amount of FSMs that i have on the scene will bog it down a bit as it compiles, but it seems that the compiling time since updating to 1.5.2 is up substantially than what it used to.

I can understand that with the new update there is a lot more that Playmaker needs to do for a preview and since there are a lot of things that it needs to compile, it's going to take some time (and i'm okay with that) but is there a way that anyone can suggest to help shorten that time a bit? It would help since when i am troubleshooting a FSM that isn't behaving the way i want it to, i do kinda need to give it a preview to see what it's doing so i can track down where i need to adjust it.

I just went from 1.4.5 to the latest 1.5.3 and straight away noticed the same thing. I'm sure it takes longer after clicking play to get it running. At least I think that's what the problem you're having is.

My scene is very simple. Just the player controller and a small basic, untextured/unlightmapped level section. Loads in about 7 seconds. It had to be at least 5 or 6 seconds before.

This should be fixed in 1.5.4. Can you confirm that it fixes what you were seeing?

It wasn't causing me any bother before but i have noticed a huge increase in how fast it previews the scene which does make testing much faster so thank you :)

I noticed a significant improvement in Sven's A* example scenes when I went to edit them previously it would sometimes get unworkable, now I don't even notice any bog.

That had been the only time I ever noticed lagging, and it seems to be fixed.

Same (sorry for not adding my voice here when it was resolved.)

The issue is now back to a good speed. Thank you!
