Planet Jump (Better name soon)
« on: June 05, 2014, 03:11:07 PM »
Helped another PlayMaker user a month or two ago with a movement mechanic like this.

Turns out- I wanted to make it into a game myself.

I slapped the demo on my Android tablet- and it seems to be running well.

The artwork is from a free asset pack for platformers. I took the floor tiles and sphere-ified them in photoshop to make planets.

There's a longer post here that describes the project:

Haha, yeah- I'll upload something soon. Hoping to get a better UI worked in before I really start to show it off. Wasn't planning to post about it- but I've been feeling guilty about neglecting my blog.

Wow looks great! How are you managing the gravity of each object?

Looks similar in style to Space Chicks on IOS:

At the moment, each planet doesn't have it's own gravity or gravity shell. Only the single directional gravity is applied. Initially, I wasn't going to use planets, but logs or some other artwork to jump to. If I can find an artist, I might change things up a lot.
