So you're promising that Playmaker will work from day 1 right? :)

I whish! I am working at the moment on a tool to ease the distribution of custom actions, so indeed I am working towards streamlining the growth of the custom actions world ( and templates and samples) and features support/learning in general.

 Bye,

We're in the alpha, so we should be able to catch any problems early and be ready for the official release. However it can take a little longer to find and fix any problems in custom actions and addons, or to support new systems...

Unity5 seems another step to a more pro-3D-A-title oriented. The only feature that caught my eye is the direct publishing to browser´s wish may be a payed ad-on anyway. 64 bit is welcome and long overdo.

But the next big one would be the 4.6 with the GUI system announced for next summer. A version that will probably last a year+ in most (free) users pipelines.

PS: Epic just bombed the party https://www.unrealengine.com/blog/welcome-to-unreal-engine-4 Unreal 4 19$/ month + 5%  :o

Did you get access to the beta?

Unreal Engine 4 responded with $20/mo, 5% royalties.

Then CryEngine responds with $10 flat per user, no royalties.

.. I think something is wrong with the real life this week. It's a good time to know C++.

Good thing I do!

Wow I never heard the CryEngine part though. That is pretty nuts.

The cry page isn't that clear, once eula's and such clear the air I think things will settle down. The unity forums are on fire with the techgasm.

It's a good time to know C++.

Sometimes I feel like avoiding learning to code is shooting myself in the foot a whole bunch.

How long would it take someone relatively cluey to become production-ready at coding? I keep telling myself that the time I would need to become decent enough to code myself, I could become a much better artist.

Depends on the language. You could get by in c# in 3 - 6 months as long as your not doing anything to complicated. C++ on the other hand will take you a pretty long time to get good enough to read cry engine code.

On top, Unreal 4 seems to have embraced visual scripting with "blueprints"
35/40m mark, looks like some of my early playmaker graphs :D

Interesting times ahead

Hi,
I'd like to know if there are any updates on PlayMaker for Unity 5. I had access to Unity 5 Beta since late August and I didn't expect PM 1.7.7.2 for Unity 4.x would work so I continued my production with 4.x
Now, by the way, the 5th release is out and I'd like to migrate my projects on the new version. Are there any news about it?
Thank you
