I think it is good because it's coming from someone that went through the process.
I would first try to read the
wiki documentation, then check out the sample, study it seriously, and then if you still find that you have difficulties, get that asset for sure, it will shed a different perspective and different wording, so it's always good on that regards.
Networking isn't the easiest aspect of game development, so don't fear investing few bucks if that will make the process easier and avoid frustration on day one...
