Controller is Grounded - Bug or bad using? [SOLVED]
« on: March 14, 2013, 04:10:01 PM »
hi,

i try to set a character animation with tha Action Controller is Grounded
but maybe i don't know how to use it correctly, my problem is when i activate it, the collider of the object is not detected, and so, the player fall, fall fall...

if i uncheck it the collider is detected and the player stop correctly.

any idea ?

on this screenshot i have used controller is Grounded multiple times to play animation falling in loop

Hi,

It's likely because you need to have your character slightly off the ground, else when unity starts, the colliders are already colliding and thus it fall through.

bye,

Can you show a screenshot of the inspector for the object in question? (the "Transform" component i think would be un-needed but the rigid-bodies, controller, colliders, etc. are what i'm curious to see.)

I've used the action before and haven't had issue but that was a while ago (i'll do a test run once i've finished cleaning up the HD... there are a lot of projects i have on my computer that need to be updated to unity 4 and that's taking the lion's share of my available time atm.)

I'll post a tutorial when i'll finish my test.

my first error was to forget the character motor

i have something that works now but it should be more smooth before i can talk about it.
